Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. seeks a technically skilled operator to monitor wells and water treatment processes. You will handle chemical dosing, meter readings, sampling, and safe plant maintenance while supporting customers and regulators.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Must have a NYS driver's license.
• Preference for a Grade II/D Water Operator license or higher or ability to obtain within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor well stations and pump equipment.
• Add and adjust chemicals and read flow meters and gauges.
• Test water chemistry, collect samples, supervise treatment, and ensure safety.
• Respond to water system emergencies during and after hours.
• Communicate with owners, employees, customers, and regulators.
• Participate in after hour call rotation and safety inspections.
• Read meters, perform inspections, and inspect for high bills.
• Oversee contractor staff during water mains and service installations.
• Troubleshoot minor electrical and mechanical issues.
