Job summary
City of Cocoa Beach maintains the wastewater treatment plant and lift stations, performing preventive maintenance and repairs on pumps, motors, tanks, and related equipment. You will keep detailed maintenance logs and respond to after-hours calls when sewer stoppages occur.
You will operate equipment such as bobcat, Vac-Con, and dump trucks, and use mobile apps for work orders and maps to view real-time plant data.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
- Experience in mechanical maintenance and plant equipment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, dismantle, rebuild and repair pumps, motors and related equipment.
- Maintain logs of preventive maintenance and parts usage.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on WWTP and lift stations.
- Respond to after-hours sewer stoppages and pump failures.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations on tools and equipment.
- Operate equipment such as bobcat, Vac-Con, and dump trucks.
- Utilize diagnostic tools (laser alignment, vibration analysis).
- Assist Utilities Electrician with installation/troubleshooting of VFDs.
