Job summary

Mead & Hunt, Inc. is seeking a full-time, limited-term Wastewater Engineering Intern to join the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Engineering Team in West Allis, WI.

You'll assist with design and delivery of wastewater and renewable energy projects, gaining exposure to planning, process design, and construction activities. The internship runs May/June 2027 through August/September 2027 and offers mentorship from experienced engineers, with potential to transition to a full-time role after graduation.

Qualifications

• Two semesters of college-level coursework in civil, environmental, chemical, biochemical, mechanical or related engineering are required.
• Microsoft Office proficiency is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are important.
• Analytical and problem‑solving abilities are essential.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with the design and delivery of wastewater and renewable energy projects.
• Conduct project and technology research.
• Compile, organize, and analyze technical, operating, and laboratory data.
• Assist with process calculations, equipment sizing and design development for wastewater treatment and renewable energy projects.
• Help develop technical evaluations, reports and other project deliverables.
• Communicate with equipment and technology vendors; review vendor information.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other team members.
• Possibly visit client facilities to collect field information and observe progress.
