Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is seeking a full-time, limited-term Wastewater Engineering Intern to join our Greenhouse Gas Reduction Engineering Team in our West Allis, WI office. This team helps clients meet sustainability and environmental goals through the planning, process design, and implementation of industrial water/wastewater treatment systems, waste-to-renewable energy systems, anaerobic digestion, and resource recovery projects.
This internship is anticipated to begin in May/June 2027 and continue through August/September 2027.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience working on meaningful, real‑world wastewater treatment and renewable energy projects for clients across the country. Interns work directly with experienced engineers and gain exposure to project planning, process selection, design, and construction‑phase activities. Projects may include municipal and industrial wastewater treatment, anaerobic digestion, biogas utilization, renewable natural gas (RNG), resource recovery, and other sustainability‑focused infrastructure projects. There is also potential for this internship to transition into a full‑time engineering position upon graduation.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Successful candidates must have completed at least two semesters (4 semesters preferred) of college‑level coursework in civil, chemical, mechanical or environmental engineering or a related degree program.
