Job summary

The City of Chicopee’s Department of Public Works is hiring a Pump Station Operator for the CSO program. You will inspect, repair, and maintain pumping stations and equipment across the City, ensuring compliance with Federal, State and local requirements.

Shifts include weekends and weekday days; ideal candidate holds Class D license and MA operator licenses, and is prepared to obtain Grade 2 collection license within a year.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts Class D Driver's License is required.
• Grade 3 MA Operators License required.
• Grade 2 Collection System License within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitors control panels and adjusts valves and gates to regulate flow of sewage.
• Operates and maintains pumps, engines, and generators to control flow of raw sewage.
• Maintains log of operations and records meter readings and gauge results.
