An established, employee-owned engineering and consulting firm is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its growing Water team. This is an opportunity to take a leading role in the delivery of technically complex water and wastewater projects while working alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary professionals.
The ideal candidate will combine a strong technical foundation with proven project management, client-facing, and business development capabilities. You’ll be responsible for guiding projects from early planning and design through construction, while helping strengthen client relationships and identify opportunities for future work.
The Water practice supports a broad portfolio of municipal and industrial clients, delivering projects across water treatment, wastewater treatment, distribution, collection systems, infrastructure upgrades, and related programs. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute to team development, technical strategy, and the continued growth of the practice.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead multidisciplinary water and wastewater projects from initial concept and planning through design, construction, and closeout.
- Oversee project delivery across scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, safety, procurement, construction, and regulatory requirements.
- Act as a senior point of contact for clients, contractors, and project partners, ensuring strong communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships while identifying opportunities for repeat business and expanded services.
- Contribute to business development initiatives, including identifying prospective projects, supporting proposals, attending industry events, and strengthening market relationships.
- Monitor industry developments, regulations, and emerging technical trends and communicate relevant opportunities to water-sector leadership.
- Provide technical and strategic input into the direction and growth of the water practice.
- Lead, coach, and mentor engineers and other project professionals, supporting both technical development and career progression.
- Encourage innovative approaches to complex engineering challenges and contribute to continuous improvement across project delivery.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited programme.
- 7+ years of relevant professional experience, with more extensive experience strongly preferred.
- Previous experience within an engineering consultancy and demonstrated project management responsibility.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Texas, or the ability to obtain Texas registration.
- Strong understanding of water/wastewater engineering, project delivery, and multidisciplinary design environments.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organisational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects, competing priorities, and demanding schedules.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard engineering/project management software.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with owners, contractors, engineers, designers, and other project stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to identifying solutions, developing people, strengthening client relationships, and supporting business growth.
