Job summary

City of Corpus Christi is seeking a Utility Technician II in Wastewater Treatment to operate and maintain six wastewater treatment plants, lift stations, and the collection system. The role requires following TCEQ rules and City policies while ensuring safe, reliable operation.

The position is non-exempt, full-time (40 hours/week) with evening/weekend/holiday shifts as needed. A valid Texas driver's license is required after hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of related work experience is preferred.
• Experience with wastewater treatment operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs intermediate to advanced process control measurements and testing (DO, pH, residual analysis).
• Assists in identifying maintenance requirements and preventive maintenance plans; performs root cause analyses.
• Prepares purchasing documents and applies TCEQ regulations to operations; supports maintenance and operations teams.
• Acts as on-call supervisor in Lead Operator's absence and directs remotely operated processes.
