Job summary

Wallingford, Town of (CT) is seeking a semi-skilled worker to operate and maintain the town's wastewater treatment facility, performing duties on pumps, motors, and related equipment, and assisting in routine maintenance. You will read SCADA systems, collect samples, operate and maintain vehicles, and perform building and grounds tasks as needed.

The role requires safety awareness and the ability to work outdoors in various weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• DEEP Class I Operator certification or higher, or Class I Operator-in-Training.
• Must maintain certification in good standing and possess a valid CT driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wastewater treatment facility equipment, including pumps, motors, mixers, tanks.
• Take periodic readings from SCADA, gauges, meters and control panels.
• Perform sampling from all processes and stages of operation.
• Operate vehicles and perform building/grounds maintenance as needed; including mowing, trimming and snow removal.
• Ensure safe, efficient operation and perform other related duties as assigned.
