Job summary

The City of Joplin is seeking a skilled wastewater treatment attendant to operate, maintain and repair plant equipment and facilities. You will collect samples, perform tests, and document results to support regulatory reporting.

Qualifications

• Two years full-time work experience at a wastewater treatment facility is preferred.
• Possess and maintain a valid state issued driver's license.
• Missouri Class D Wastewater Operator's Certificate is required within six months of appointment.
• Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Collects samples of raw and treated sewage and tests at various stages.
• Logs test results and flow volumes for compliance reports.
• Op erates and maintains plant equipment and pumps.
• Monitors SCADA system and plant gauges for efficient operation.
• Performs preventive maintenance and basic building upkeep.
• Works with Public Works staff to maintain service levels.
