Job summary

North Texas Municipal Water District is seeking a Wastewater Plant Operator II to oversee operation, maintenance, and monitoring of wastewater facilities and associated systems. You will ensure asset condition, water quality, and safety standards are met while performing and supervising related tasks.

The role requires a high school diploma (GED acceptable) and a Texas Class C Wastewater Operator license, with at least two years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or trade certification preferred.
• Minimum of two years of experience in wastewater treatment or equivalent.
• Must hold Texas Commission on Environmental Quality Class C Wastewater Treatment Operator’s License.
• Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Monitors, analyzes, and adjusts facility operations using SCADA and instrumentation for compliant, efficient operations.
• Maintains thorough logs and records; suggests improvements for efficiency and function of operations.
• Follows safety policies; adheres to NTMWD guidelines and state statutes.
• Responds to emergencies and planned shutdowns; troubleshoots and diagnoses problems.
• Performs maintenance procedures on facility assets and assists with asset management.
• Cleans screenings, grit, clarifiers, UV system and other wastewater equipment; maintains grounds.
