Job summary

North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) seeks a Wastewater Plant Operator II to oversee operation, maintenance, and monitoring of wastewater facilities. You will manage headworks, liquids treatment, solids handling, odor control, SCADA systems, and lift stations while ensuring asset condition, water quality, and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in wastewater treatment, a Texas Class C license, and a high school diploma or GED with preferred associate certification.

Qualifications

• Possess a high school diploma or GED; an associate degree or trade certification is preferred.
• Minimum of two years of experience in wastewater treatment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Maintain a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality Class C Wastewater Treatment Operator’s License.
• Maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and adjust facility operations using observation, sampling, instrumentation, and SCADA for compliant, efficient operations.
• Promote an environment of Integrity, Trust, Respect, Unity, Safety, and Teamwork.
• Notify appropriate personnel of abnormal conditions; coordinate with maintenance on repairs and preventative procedures.
• Maintain thorough logs and records; use data to suggest improvements in operations."
• Observe safety policies and comply with state statutes and NTMWD guidelines.
• Monitor for security breaches and report to authorities or supervisors as needed.
• Respond to emergencies and planned shutdowns; troubleshoot and diagnose issues.
• Clean screenings, grit, clarifiers, UV system, and other wastewater equipment.
• Maintain facility grounds and perform general housekeeping."
• Handle shipments, verify documents, and submit records to the appropriate personnel.
