Job summary

The City of Lexington seeks a Wastewater Plant Operator I, II, or III to operate and maintain the municipal wastewater treatment facilities. This semi-skilled role requires a high school diploma or GED and valid NC driver's license, with the ability to obtain NC license if out-of-state.

Certifications as Grade I / III/ IV in Biological Wastewater are required or to be earned within specified timelines. Work involves on-call rotation and rotating shifts with bi-weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Valid NC driver’s license or valid out-of-state license with the ability to obtain NC license within 60 days and good driving record.
• Achievement of Grade I Biological Wastewater certification within 12 months of employment.
• Grade III Biological Wastewater certification.
• Grade IV Biological Wastewater certification.

• Valid NC driver’s license or valid out-of-state driver’s license with the ability to obtain a valid NC driver’s license within sixty days of employment and good driving record
• Three years of experience in operating a wastewater treatment plant
• Grade IV Biological Wastewater certification

Work Schedule
On-Call rotation, Rotating shift pattern. Paid bi-weekly.
