City of Goldsboro in North Carolina is seeking a semiskilled Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator. You will perform operational, laboratory, and maintenance duties to ensure safe treatment of wastewater and proper disposal of waste materials.
Work may involve rotating shifts and on-call duties. Responsibilities include monitoring plant equipment, recording data, conducting standard lab tests, performing preventive maintenance, and assisting with facility upkeep.
Hiring range is negotiable between $41,686.31 - $54,192.21 depending on a candidate's qualifications and experience
Performs responsible semiskilled work in the operation of a wastewater treatment plant, including laboratory and maintenance functions. An employee in this class performs a variety of operational, laboratory, and maintenance duties designed to produce safe treatment of wastewater and disposal of domestic and commercial waste materials. Work is performed on an assigned or rotating shift and is subject to be called to return to work. Work includes monitoring the plant's operation through observation, mechanical readings, and the results of standard chemical and biological tests and to make necessary adjustments in the process as conditions or test results dictate. Other duties include performing standard laboratory duties and tests and assisting with plant and facilities maintenance. Work also includes substantial record keeping of work activities.
