Job summary

City of Brush is seeking a Wastewater Plant Operator Level D to perform daily rounds, collect and analyze samples, and operate and maintain the treatment facility under supervision. The role requires a high school diploma and the ability to obtain a Colorado Class D license within 6 months; a valid Colorado driver’s license is required, and swimming ability is desirable.

The position includes weekend duties on a rotating basis.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of, and mechanical aptitude that permits working with, pumps, valves, motors, electrical panels, and related equipment.
• Ability to work unsupervised and follow complex instructions.
• Knowledge of chemistry and mathematics.
• Knowledge of confined space requirements and hazards.
• Hepatitis B vaccination willingness and license readiness within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily rounds and collect samples.
• Analyze samples and conduct wastewater analyses as needed.
• Operate, maintain and repair pumps, motors, control panels, and instrumentation.
• Record daily process control reports and equipment history.
• Assist in collection, distribution, and routine maintenance activities.
