Job summary

City of Atlanta is seeking an experienced Wastewater Plant Manager to oversee daily operations of a large treatment facility. You will supervise a sizable team, ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, and coordinate maintenance, laboratory testing, and process optimization.

This role requires strong leadership, experience in operations and maintenance, contract oversight, and public-facing activities such as community tours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Science, Biology, or a closely related field.
• Three (3) years of work experience in the Wastewater Management role with some experience in leading Operations and Maintenance Divisions

Responsibilities

• Generates work orders in maintenance management system and orders chemicals.
• Oversees plant upgrades; ensures permit compliance.
• Supervises staff; sets goals; conducts evaluations.
• Reviews Operators' work for accuracy and compliance.
• Maintains records and prepares reports daily to monthly.
• Operates plant equipment and analyzes data for compliance.
