• Knowledge of plant safety procedures.
• Ability to plan and direct the work of subordinates.
• Ability to coordinate the work of a large work force.
• Ability implement procedures for complex operating problems.
• Ability to resolve union grievances.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and coordinates the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant and participates in the overall planning and direction of plant activities.
• Directs the activities of wastewater operations technicians and office staff.
• Responds to 24-hour call as needed and works a conventional workweek.
• Work may involve exposure to chemicals and odors at the plant site; most time is office-based with occasional plant visits.
