Job summary

North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) seeks a Mechanic’s Assistant to support maintenance staff in the renewal of wastewater facilities and related systems. The role includes assisting with pumps, blowers, valves, and other process equipment, using instrumentation to monitor performance, and performing routine repairs.

You will follow safety guidelines, help manage inventories, maintain thorough logs, and work within an environment emphasizing integrity and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or trade certification preferred.
• Basic mechanical, electrical, technology, and operations aptitude; wastewater operations/maintenance experience preferred.
• Texas License: ideally Wastewater or Water Treatment license; valid Texas driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Support maintenance staff and assist in treatment maintenance and renewal of wastewater facilities.
• Assist with equipment performance evaluation using instrumentation for compliant operations.
• Perform routine maintenance and repair on pumps, blowers, valves; assist with planning and inventory control.
• Follow safety procedures and job plans; maintain logs and records; coordinate with Maximo CMMS for service requests.
• Assist with facility grounds and housekeeping; participate in team environment emphasizing integrity and safety.
