Job summary

Parametrix, Inc. in Washington state is seeking an experienced Industrial Wastewater Engineer to support the EP&C team. You will work on planning, permitting, and improving municipal and industrial wastewater systems with emphasis on regulatory compliance and discharge permits.

The role requires a PE license, 5+ years of wastewater experience, and strong knowledge of NPDES and state permits. Hybrid/remote options are available with a Washington-based office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, civil, environmental, mechanical, or a related engineering discipline.
• Five or more years of experience supporting the design and permitting of wastewater projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington or Oregon, or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
• Strong knowledge of wastewater permitting and applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
• Experience with NPDES and state-specific discharge permits, including WPCF permits.

Responsibilities

• Interpret regulatory requirements and develop policies, plans, and procedures for compliance.
• Track, review, and assess federal, state, and local regulations related to stormwater and discharges.
• Prepare compliance documents, technical reports, and permit-related materials.
• Prepare permit applications, renewals, modifications, and agency reports.
• Develop water balances, process flow diagrams, and equipment recommendations.
• Support planning, design, rehabilitation, and improvement of wastewater systems.
• Collaborate with clients, agencies, engineers, and professionals.
• Mentor developing engineers in permitting and compliance.
• Manage work within budgets, schedules, and resources while ensuring quality.
