Job summary

Eagle River Water and Sanitation District in Avon is hiring a Wastewater Operator to join our team of environmental professionals at the Avon Wastewater Treatment Facility. This role blends science, problem solving, and hands-on mechanical work to protect our community's most valuable resource: water.

You will monitor and operate treatment systems, perform preventive maintenance, collect lab samples, and analyze data to meet regulatory limits.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; technical coursework preferred.
Experience operating and maintaining mechanical equipment.
Laboratory experience preferred.
Proficiency with SCADA and Microsoft Office.
Colorado Wastewater Operator Class D certification within 12 months.
Valid Colorado driver's license within 30 days; ability to obtain Class B CDL.
CPR/First Aid certification within six months.

Responsibilities

Operations: Control treatment environment and ensure regulatory compliance.
Mechanical: Troubleshoot repairs and routine maintenance on equipment.
Laboratory: Collect samples and analyze data for process control.
Equipment Operation: Run pumps, motors, sludge equipment, and odor control systems.
Preventive Maintenance: Inspect and adjust equipment; assist with larger projects.
Data Collection and Analysis: Monitor data and trends to inform decisions.
Safety and Compliance: Follow safety policies; assist with inspections and PPE readiness.
