Job summary

City of Jerome is seeking a wastewater technician to operate and monitor treatment systems, collect samples, and ensure compliance with regulations. The role supports daily plant operations and requires the ability to respond quickly to service needs.

The candidate must hold a Wastewater I License (and Collections I or obtain within 12 months) and a valid Idaho CDL Class B or obtain within 6 months. High school diploma or GED is required, with prior wastewater or maintenance experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year wastewater facility or semi-skilled maintenance experience.
• Wastewater I License at time of hire.
• Collections I License or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Idaho Commercial Driver's License Class B or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and operates wastewater plant equipment and processes.
• Collects samples and analyzes influents/effluents; records results and data.
• Operates and monitors primary/secondary digesters, pumps, and equipment.
• Performs preventative maintenance and minor repairs.
• Exchanges work orders with maintenance staff and ensures safety compliance.
