Job summary

Stover & Associates in Virginia is seeking a dedicated Operations Specialist to operate and maintain wastewater facilities and processes. This full-time, night-shift role requires basic tools, equipment inspection, routine tests, and strong attention to safety standards.

Work is in person with 12-hour night shifts and potential overtime. Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED and be capable of lifting up to 75 pounds, with solid math and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; or six months related experience and/or a combination of education and experience
• Mechanical knowledge of equipment and tools including their use, service requirements, repair procedures, and maintenance
• Knowledge of H2S Safety
• Basic math skills and applications
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions with good judgment
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds

Responsibilities

• Use common hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, grease guns, and pipe wrenches
• Inspect equipment and monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges to prevent downtime
• Maintain clean work areas and tools
• Perform routine minimum control tests
• Assist with facility maintenance
• Perform general housekeeping and cleaning of facilities
• Communicate data relative to daily operations in logs
• Perform tasks in a timely manner

Responsibilities

• Use common hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, grease guns, and pipe wrenches
• Inspect equipment and monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges to prevent equipment downtime or process upsets
• Maintain clean work area(s), hand and power tools, equipment, and facilities
• Perform routine minimum control tests
• Assist with facility maintenance
• Perform general housekeeping and cleaning of all related facilities
• Maintain working relationship with all employees
• Communicate all pertinent data and information relative to daily operations in operator logbooks and at shift change
• Perform other duties as required
• Perform required tasks in a timely manner

Qualifications
