Job summary

City of Edinburg in Edinburg, TX is seeking a Wastewater Plant Operator I to perform moderately complex plant operations and maintenance. You will be responsible for operating equipment, sampling wastewater, and assisting with lab tasks to support daily plant functions.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED or equivalency.
• May substitute two years of experience with TCEQ approved education.
• No experience required.
• One year of wastewater treatment plant operations, maintenance and repairs preferred.
• Must obtain TCEQ Class D license within 1 year, Class C within 3 years, Class B within 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain essential wastewater plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot issues and take wastewater samples and tests.
• Keep building and grounds clean and organized at the plant.
• Assist other divisions within the department as needed.
