Job summary

Republic Services in the United States is seeking a facility operator to ensure pumps, conveyors, blowers, chlorinators, vacuum equipment and related wastewater treatment are operational at all times.

The role requires knowledge of water and wastewater systems, electrical and hydraulic support, and the ability to manage data, logs and regulatory records. Benefit-rich environment with strong emphasis on safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater facilities.
• Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and electrical and hydraulic support systems.
• Knowledge of collection systems, including pump stations and regulator stations.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical theory, cross connections and pumps.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains hazardous waste disposal injection well and equipment.
• Reports equipment malfunctions promptly.
• Records daily system readings and inspections of pump leachate.
• Performs weed trimming and grass cutting around facility and associated systems.
• Collects and processes storm water samples as needed.
• Enters data into Excel spreadsheets and maintains system records.
• Keeps records of equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Receives, handles, recovers, disposes and recycles hazardous waste.
• Keeps logs and records of waste received and shipped off-site.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
