Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 3 months wastewater collections/treatment experience.
• Licensing: Must hold a valid Georgia Class 4 Wastewater Operator license or be able to secure within 12 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• System Operation & Monitoring: Operate and monitor wastewater treatment plants, pumps, lift stations, and collection systems.
• Maintenance & Repairs: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on treatment equipment, pumps, valves, and collection system components.
• Regulatory Compliance: Maintain records and submit reports to local, state, and federal agencies; ensure discharge permits and regulatory requirements are met.
• Safety & Emergency Response: Follow safety protocols and participate in emergency responses for sewer overflows, equipment failures, or incidents.
• Collaboration & Training: Work with other operators, technicians, and supervisors; assist in training new staff and ongoing certification.
• Typically involves on-site work at wastewater treatment plants or lift stations; physical demands include standing, walking, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs.
