Job summary

Brunswick County Public Utilities is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Operator to join the West Brunswick Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant team. The role operates the plant daily, monitors pumps, filters, and tank levels, and adjusts chemical feed dosages to maintain compliance and public health.

The Operator reports to the Chief Utility Plant Operator and participates in the county's career ladder, with training and certification support and a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, including days

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• NC Driver License is required.
• NC Biological Certification preferred; Trainee path possible.

Responsibilities

• Operate the West Brunswick Regional WWTP on a daily basis.
• Check wastewater pumps, filter systems and tank levels; adjust as needed.
• Calculate chemical feed dosages and read charts, gauges and meters.
• Handle calls for wastewater and sewer emergencies; follow safety policies.
