Union County, NC is seeking a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator I to assist with daily plant operations on a shift. You will learn from experienced operators, monitor equipment, collect samples, and help maintain safety and logs.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
NC Grade I Biological Water Pollution Control System Operator Certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.
Must obtain NC Grade II Biological Water Pollution Control System Operator Certification within 18 months.

Responsibilities

Assist in operation of wastewater treatment plant on assigned shift and monitor equipment.
Collect, test, and analyze process control samples for permit compliance.
Monitor SCADA workstations and maintain flows and loading.
Inspect equipment, perform minor maintenance, and document operational data.
Maintain daily log entries and adhere to safety protocols.
