You will identify parts, perform basic welding, assemble or repair plumbing, and complete required paperwork. The job requires willingness to work extended hours including Saturdays and to handle varied temperatures with PPE.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Identify and locate parts/part numbers from manuals or catalogs.
• Knowledge of and ability to perform basic welding (tig, mig, stick) and assess weld quality.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to keep machines, systems, and buildings in good condition.
• Assemble, install, or repair plumbing and equipment to keep machinery and facilities in repair.
• Complete necessary paperwork (PM sheets, work orders).
• Notify lead or supervisor of malfunctions or repairs needed.
• Troubleshoot centrifugal (chopper) and positive displacement pumps.
• Understand wastewater treatment processes, sampling, and testing procedures.

As Our Wastewater Operator, You Will

• Identify and locate parts/part numbers from machinery or equipment manuals or parts catalogs (e.g. Cryovac, overhead chains, rail switches, conveyors, saws, etc.).
• Knowledge of and ability to perform basic welding (e.g. primarily tig; some mig and stick). Ability to identify good and bad welds.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance (e.g. grease bearings, lubricate, check fluid levels, replace filters, etc.) to ensure that machines run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
• Assemble, install, or repair plumbing (e.g. threading pipe), equipment or machinery to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of an establishment in repair.
• Complete necessary paperwork (PM sheets, work orders, etc.).
• Notify lead or supervisor of any malfunctions or repairs needed.
• Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot centrifugal (chopper) and positive displacement pumps.
• Knowledge of wastewater treatment, sampling, and testing procedures, including process flow.

• Must be able to work in a variety of work temperatures warm, hot, humid, cold, wet or with slippery surfaces at varied heights in and around moving equipment and parts with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Must be able to perform the job duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to work extended scheduled hours Monday through Saturday with daily overtime. Must be able to work overtime as required. Start times and hours vary based on production needs.

Must Be Able To Successfully Complete Training

• Food defense.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior quality assurance experience in a USDA inspected beef, pork, or poultry facility.
• Prior production experience.
• Work history in the last 12 months.
