Job summary

Long Prairie Packing Company, LLC, an American Foods Group Company, seeks a Maintenance Mechanic at its Long Prairie, MN plant. You will perform preventive maintenance, identify parts, and repair or replace components to keep production lines running smoothly.

Expect to work with electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, perform basic welding and plumbing, and maintain documentation in the EAM system. Training includes SQF, GMP, HACCP, SOPs, and safety programs.

Qualifications

Requires ability to read drawings/blueprints and use hand/power tools.
Experience with maintenance in manufacturing preferred.
Basic welding and plumbing skills are required.

Responsibilities

Identify parts from manuals or catalogs and locate part numbers.
Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and building systems.
Repair or replace defective equipment and components ( belts, gears, etc.).
Perform basic hydraulics and welding as needed.
Complete PM sheets and work orders in EAM system.

Long Prairie Packing Company, LLC., an American Foods Group Company, has opportunities for a Maintenance Mechanic at our Long Prairie, MN plant.

As Our Maintenance Mechanic, You Will

Identify and locate parts/part numbers from machinery or equipment manuals or parts catalogs (e.g., Cryovac, overhead chains, rail switches, conveyors, saws, etc.).
Perform basic welding (e.g., primarily tig; and stick). Ability to identify good and bad welds.
Perform routine preventive maintenance (e.g., grease bearings, lubricate, check fluid levels, replace filters, etc.) to ensure that machines run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
Assemble, install, or repair plumbing (e.g., threading pipe), equipment or machinery to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of an establishment in repair.
Assemble, disassemble, repair, or replace defective equipment or parts (e.g., change belts, gearboxes, etc.).
Perform basic hydraulics (e.g., change motors, make hoses, etc.).
Complete necessary paperwork in EAM system (PM sheets, work orders, etc.).
Basic knowledge of electrical components and operation.
Assist in performing maintenance on scale equipment (e.g., portable, floor, and matrix - hot/cold) in applicable area(s).
Perform basic forklift maintenance (change tires, replace bushings, etc.).
Notify lead or supervisor of any malfunctions or repairs needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
