Job summary

Veolia Group is a global leader in environmental services, focusing on water, energy, and waste management. We seek an SS Operator 1 to support water treatment systems, performing operations, maintenance, and unloading of Process Filter Presses across a variety of technologies.

The role requires hands-on work in industrial facilities, adherence to safety standards, and collaboration with Shift Leads to ensure continuous, compliant operation of critical water treatment processes.

Qualifications

  • Excellent mechanical know-how.
  • Ability and willingness to perform physical duties such as lifting, climbing, working at elevated heights, and manual dexterity.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a range of environments including industrial and manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Empty Process Filter Presses
  • Power wash pits and equipment including confined space entry
  • Carry out filter changes, process cleaning, and process operations as directed by Shift Leads
  • Maintain site paperwork, and provide summaries of work performed
  • Communicate with Shift Lead on inventory of spare parts and adequate supply of chemicals and replacement parts
  • Monitor and maintain systems as directed
  • Perform analytical testing as directed
  • Consult with Shift Lead and operation teams for direction
  • Operate, monitor, and optimize equipment as directed
  • Change and Clean Filters and other equipment / Pits
  • Conduct maintenance and calibration activities
  • Maintain a clean work area
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Description

Job Summary:
As an SS Operator 1, you’ll be on the front lines providing operations and maintenance support on water treatment systems for one of our customers from one of a variety of industries. This mission critical role involves working on (and cleaning) a variety of technologies including, media filtration, softening, reverse osmosis (RO), ion exchange (IX), de-oxygenation, electro deionization, and ultrafiltration (UF). The primary duty is to unload Process Filter Presses.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Empty Process Filter Presses
  • Power Wash Pits and Equipment including Confined Space Entry
  • Carry out filter changes, process cleaning, and process operations as directed by Shift Leads

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent mechanical know-how
  • Ability and willingness to perform physical duties such as lifting, climbing, working at elevated heights, and manual dexterity
  • Ability and willingness to work in a range of environments to include but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities

Education & Experience:

Required

  • High School Diploma / GED / Home School Certification OR international equivalent 2+ years’ experience of service/maintenance or equivalent in an industrial environment

Preferred

  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Science/Engineering (STEM) or technical certificate in Instrumentation
