Job summary

Veolia Water Technologies is seeking an SS Operator 1 to support water treatment systems for diverse industries. You will unload Process Filter Presses and participate in cleaning, filtration, and RO/IX systems while following Shift Leads' directions.

Role requires physical work, safety compliance, and accurate site documentation. Preferred candidates hold a STEM-related degree and have hands-on industrial maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s/Associate degree in Science/Engineering or technical instrumentation certificate preferred.
• Experience in service/maintenance in industrial settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Unload Process Filter Presses and maintain cleanliness of work area.
• Carry out filter changes, cleaning, and operations as directed by Shift Leads.
• Maintain site paperwork and provide summaries of work performed.
• Coordinate with Shift Lead on inventory of spare parts and chemicals.
• Monitor and optimize systems and perform analytical testing as directed.
• Communicate with operation teams for direction and safety compliance.

Job Description

Job Summary

As an SS Operator 1, you’ll be on the front lines providing operations and maintenance support on water treatment systems for one of our customers from one of a variety of industries. This mission critical role involves working on (and cleaning) a variety of technologies including, media filtration, softening, reverse osmosis (RO), ion exchange (IX), de-oxygenation, electro deionization, and ultrafiltration (UF). The primary duty is to unload Process Filter Presses.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Empty Process Filter Presses
• Power Wash Pits and Equipment including Confined Space Entry
• Carry out filter changes, process cleaning, and process operations as directed by Shift Leads
• Maintain site paperwork, and provide summaries of work performed
• Communicate with Shift Lead on inventory of spare parts and adequate supply of chemicals and replacement parts
• Monitor and maintain systems as directed
• Perform analytical testing as directed
• Consult with Shift Lead and operation teams for direction
• Operate, monitor, and optimize equipment as directed
• Change and Clean Filters and other equipment / Pits
• Conduct maintenance and calibration activities
• Maintain a clean work area
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Excellent mechanical know-how
• Ability and willingness to perform physical duties such as lifting, climbing, working at elevated heights, and manual dexterity
• Ability and willingness to work in a range of environments to include but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities

Education & Experience

Required

• High School Diploma / GED / Home School Certification OR international equivalent 2+ years’ experience of service/maintenance or equivalent in an industrial environment

Preferred

• Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Science/Engineering (STEM) or technical certificate in Instrumentation
