WesTech Engineering LLC in Eastover, SC is hiring a Licensed Wastewater Operations Technician to join a dedicated team. The role offers competitive pay starting at $35 per hour, with overtime opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package based on experience.

Ideal candidates will hold a South Carolina Class A Wastewater Certification and have 4+ years of related water/wastewater experience. This is a permanent, on-site position with a schedule featuring a 2-2-3 rotation to support work/life

Qualifications

• SC Class A Wastewater Certification required.
• 4+ years of water/wastewater experience required.
• Licensed Wastewater Operations Technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts water sample testing to analyze plant performance and optimize operations.
• Maintains accurate logs and records of plant activities.
• Calibrates equipment including pumps, valves, and sensors for optimal performance.
• Troubleshoots pumps, drive units, and related components to minimize downtime.
• Monitors treatment parameters (pH, turbidity, TSS, ORP) and adjusts processes accordingly.
• Ensures safety procedures are followed and PPE is worn at all times.
• Documents operational data using Microsoft Office and logs.
• Performs preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conducts water sample testing to analyze plant performance and optimize operational efficiency.

• Maintains accurate records and logs of all plant activities to ensure thorough documentation.

• Calibrates mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment critical to plant operations.

• Diagnoses and repairs electric pumps, drive units, reducers, and valves essential to plant functioning.

• Perform jar testing, and execute drawdowns on chemical pumps, and perform maintenance on chemical injection equipment

• Clearly communicates any malfunctions or issues to minimize downtime.

• Applies knowledge of equipment mechanics and scientific principles to troubleshoot and resolve issues proactively.

• Monitors water treatment processes, adjusting for factors like total suspended solids (TSS), pH, turbidity, ORP, and chemical reactions to improve outcomes.

• Prioritizes safety by following all procedures, wearing PPE, conducting safety checks, and responding to emergencies.

• Uses Microsoft Office tools to document operational data, track performance, and maintain accurate logs.

• Perform complex preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment

• Examine, troubleshoot, replace, and configure complex pressure gauges/transducers and flow meters to detect complex abnormalities.

• Works collaboratively within the team and customer to ensure smooth daily operations and effective teamwork.

• Other duties as required.
