Job summary

WesTech is hiring a Water/Wastewater Operations Technician for an on-site role in Eastover, SC. You will oversee daily plant operations, test water quality, adjust treatment processes, and ensure safety and compliance with evolving regulations.

Ideal candidates hold a South Carolina Class A wastewater certification, have 5 years of water/wastewater experience (3 years in the field), and are prepared to pass drug and background screenings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and state wastewater certification.
• 5 years of water/wastewater experience, including at least 3 years in field operations.
• Must pass drug screen and background checks.
• Ability to follow a full range of instructions and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Conduct water sample testing to analyze plant performance and optimize operations.
• Maintain accurate logs and records of all plant activities.
• Calibrate critical equipment including pumps, drive units, valves, and sensors.
• Diagnose and repair pumps, drive units, and other system components.
• Perform jar testing and manage chemical injection equipment maintenance.
• Communicate malfunctions clearly to minimize downtime.
• Monitor treatment parameters (pH, turbidity, TSS, ORP) to improve outcomes.
• Prioritize safety by following procedures and wearing PPE.
• Document operational data using Microsoft Office; track performance.
• Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
• Inspect and troubleshoot gauges, transducers, and flow meters.
