Olsten Staffing is seeking a Wastewater Operator in Myrtle Beach, SC to monitor pretreatment systems, analyze samples, and perform maintenance to ensure environmental compliance and plant efficiency.

Olsten Staffing is currently recruiting for a Wastewater Operator on behalf of a respected manufacturing company in Myrtle Beach. This position is ideal for mechanically inclined individuals who enjoy troubleshooting equipment, working independently, and playing a vital role in environmental compliance and plant operations.
Maintain a safe work environment and ensure safety remains the top priority.
Monitor wastewater pretreatment systems and supporting equipment to ensure uninterrupted operation.
Analyze and monitor the chemical composition of influent, effluent, and internal process streams.
Make operational adjustments to maintain compliance with established guidelines.
Respond to equipment malfunctions and process upsets.
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on:
Pumps
Valves
Blowers
Belt presses
Piping systems
Collect wastewater samples and perform chemical and physical testing.
Conduct stormwater sampling as required.
Maintain wastewater treatment equipment for efficient and cost-effective operation.
Complete maintenance records, operating logs, and database entries accurately.
Maintain inventory and control of tools, manuals, repair parts, and consumables.
Assist with environmental compliance programs and initiatives.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the wastewater treatment facility.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Previous wastewater treatment, industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or related experience preferred.
Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to perform laboratory sampling and testing.
Strong recordkeeping and documentation skills.
Ability to work second shift or rotating shifts when required.
Ability to lift, climb, stand, and perform physical duties throughout the shift.
Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
Understanding of wastewater treatment processes
Experience operating pumps, valves, motors, and treatment equipment
Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices
Familiarity with laboratory testing and sample analysis
Ability to read gauges, meters, and process control systems
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Attention to detail and accurate record keeping

Pay Details: $19.50 to $27.00 per hour
