Job summary

Nleague Services Inc. in Indianapolis is seeking a Microbiologist for the IDOH Water Microbiology Laboratory to coordinate and perform tests for SARS-CoV-2 and other public health targets in wastewater and water samples.

The role requires a BS in biological sciences, experience with RNA extraction and qPCR, and duties include sample preparation, data recording, QC, and reporting; position is 3+ months with a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• Candidate must have a BS degree in biological science.
• Experience performing RNA extraction & qPCR testing is required.
• 1 year molecular testing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct wastewater sample concentration, RNA extraction and PCR molecular testing.
• Maintain laboratory record system of submitted samples.
• Evaluate, interpret, and validate laboratory results.
• Conduct quality control checks on laboratory methods, materials, and equipment.
• Assist with preparation of reports from data compiled.
• Participate in evaluation of new products used in environmental laboratory work.
