Zusammenfassung

The City of Norfolk's Utilities Department seeks a Maintenance Worker II for the Wastewater Division to perform general labor, fuel equipment, unload materials, and dig as needed. The role requires basic reading of instructions and a high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for one year of maintenance repair experience. Candidate must hold a valid driver’s license.

Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at 1316 Ballentine Boulevard, Norfolk, VA.

Qualifikationen

Must be able to read and understand written instructions and basic processes.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
One year of maintenance experience is preferred.
Valid driver's license is required.

Aufgaben

Digs and refills trenches; cuts asphalt and concrete; maintains lawns.
Loads, unloads, lifts and carries tools and materials.
Maintains and repairs underground wastewater service lines and work areas.
Transports materials and personnel to worksites; operates safely.
Will work nights, weekends or holidays as needed during emergencies.
