Job summary

The City of Houston is seeking a supervisory professional for wastewater operations maintenance at 7440 Cullen Blvd, Houston, TX 77051. Oversees collection system and wastewater treatment plant maintenance crews, ensures safe operations, and drives city vehicles as needed.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and 5 years of skilled maintenance experience; Texas Driver's License required. This is a Department of Houston Public Works Emergency Management Tier I position with safety and training

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED; vocational competence may be required.
• Minimum 5 years of skilled building or mechanical maintenance experience.
• Valid Texas Driver's License and compliance with the City of Houston driving policy.
• Knowledge of wastewater collection systems, wastewater treatment plants, lift stations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and direct activities of maintenance groups.
• Organize and assign work, monitor progress, ensure supplies and equipment.
• Train new employees; maintain attendance records and evaluations.
• Oversee preventive maintenance of vehicles, yard, and plant machinery.
• Assist with daily operations and drive City vehicle; enforce safety rules.
