Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience following EPA methods and 40 CFR Part 136 guidelines.
• Ability to follow written procedures and maintain accurate records.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and safety.
• Effective communication and teamwork in a lab setting.
• Willingness to work one weekend day weekly, plus holidays, overtime, and on-call.

Responsibilities

• Collect, prepare, process, and analyze wastewater and sludge samples using established lab procedures.
• Perform physical, chemical and microbiological testing per approved methods.
• Prepare reagents, standards, and calibration solutions for analyses.
• Operate, clean, calibrate, and maintain lab equipment.
• Record results and maintain laboratory logs and chain-of-custody docs.
• Support QA/QC activities to aid accreditation and regulatory compliance.
• Review data for completeness and report anomalies to staff.
• Assist with audits, proficiency testing, and corrective actions.
• Adhere to safety procedures and use PPE.
• Provide timely analytical data to support wastewater treatment operations.
• Maintain lab cleanliness and organization.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
