City of Largo is seeking a skilled Wastewater Instrumentation Technician to install, maintain, calibrate, and repair complex high voltage electronic equipment used in wastewater treatment and lift stations. This role requires independent judgment within technical standards and may involve irregular hours during emergencies.

The position emphasizes safety, documentation, and collaboration with a utilities supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2 years of vocational/technical training and 2 years of hands-on electrical/instrumentation experience; or equivalent.
• PLC, HMI, VFD, or SCADA troubleshooting experience.
• VFD programming preferred.
• Certification/license in electrical or instrumentation is a plus.
• Valid Florida driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Repair, configure, and calibrate high voltage electrical and electronic equipment used in wastewater treatment or lift stations.
• Test, diagnose, and repair equipment; coordinate with systems integrator on I/O checks.
• Calibrate and maintain sensors, meters, PLCs, SCADA components, and related devices.
• Maintain accurate service records, drawings, schematics, and maintenance logs.
• Support emergency response operations and operate in irregular hours as needed.
• Attend NEC training to stay current on safety standards.
