Job summary

Columbus Water Works is seeking a Full Time Technician in Columbus, GA to perform cleaning of sewer lines, manholes, and lift stations. The role supports CSO and data collection teams and includes on-call duties on a rotating schedule.

Applicants should have at least 1 year of related experience or technical training, read maps, and hold a valid driver’s license; CDL is required within one year. High school diploma or GED is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year related experience and/or technical training in sewer construction or equivalent
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to read and interpret utility maps and drawings
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record; CDL within one year of employment

Responsibilities

• Assist in operating mobile equipment to clean sanitary lines and support CSO teams
• Read maps and drawings to locate lines and determine cleaning points
• Maintain safety equipment and set up traffic control (tape and cones)
• Transport and dump collected wastewater and grit at approved locations
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment; on-call duties on rotation
