Job summary

Columbus Water Works through Westaff Staffing Agency in Columbus, GA is seeking a field service assistant focused on sewer line cleaning and related operations. You will assist in operating mobile equipment, assemble suction tubes and nozzles, and support teams removing blockages across the service area.

Responsibilities include safety, equipment maintenance, reading maps and drawings, and on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year related experience or technical training in sewer construction.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license with clean record; CDL within one year.
• Ability to read and interpret maps/drawings.

Responsibilities

• Assist in operations of mobile equipment to clean sanitary lines and assist data collection and CSO teams to remove blockages.
• Assist in assembling suction tubes and high-pressure nozzles to remove grit and debris.
• Maintain safe operations including traffic control and safety equipment setup.
• Transport and dump collected wastewater and grit at approved locations.
• Read maps/drawings and operate in hazardous environments.
