Job summary

Schutte Environmental Consulting & Compliance in Indiana is seeking a dependable Wastewater Field Operator to support daily operation, monitoring, and maintenance of wastewater collection and treatment systems. You will perform inspections, operate pumps and lift stations, collect samples, document results, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations including NPDES.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Wastewater Operator certification (Class I or higher) or ability to obtain within required timeframe.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor wastewater treatment processes, lift stations, and collection system components.
• Perform routine inspections of pumps, valves, manholes, aeration systems, and other infrastructure.
• Record operational data including flows, pressures, chemical usage, and equipment readings.
• Document results and support compliance with state and federal regulations (including NPDES requirements).
