The City of Norfolk's Wastewater Division seeks an Equipment Operator III to operate heavy equipment and transport crews to job sites in the Combined Operations area. You will perform routine maintenance and safety checks while supporting water reclamation projects.

Two years of Equipment Operator experience are preferred; a valid CDL is required, with Class A CDL possible for some assignments. This is an essential, on-site role with potential for extended hours during emergencies.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent required or equivalent knowledge.
• Two years of experience as an Equipment Operator or similar role preferred.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL required; Class A CDL may be preferred for some assignments.

Aufgaben

• Operates construction and wastewater system maintenance equipment (backhoes, jet/vactor cleaners, trenchers, dump trucks).
• Transports heavy equipment, supplies, and materials to job sites.
• Performs safety checks, maintenance, and minor repairs on equipment and tools.
• Assists with loading/unloading materials and maintaining clean equipment/work areas.
