Job summary

Kleinfelder in Coralville, IA is seeking a full-time Wastewater Engineer to join our municipal/environmental team. You will work with engineers, CAD technicians, and project staff to design and deliver wastewater and drinking water projects.

The ideal candidate has a civil or environmental engineering background with 5–10+ years of design experience, a PE or EIT aiming for PE within a year, and a track record on municipal facilities. We offer career growth and a people-first culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5–10+ years of environmental engineering design experience.
• Experience in municipal wastewater and drinking water design/construction.
• Iowa or Nebraska P.E. license or EIT with ability to obtain P.E. within 1 year.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are currently seeking a full-time Wastewater Engineer to join our Coralville, IA office. Our team works with communities on a wide range of civil, municipal, and environmental projects. We are looking for a Professional Engineer who would work with Engineers, CAD Technicians, Construction Observers, Land Survey Chiefs and office staff in various capacities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in Business Development, including initiation of client contacts and preparation of project proposals.
• Client contact including attendance at board or council meetings.
• Prepare detailed technical engineering reports.
• Prepare plans and specifications for specific projects.
• Work with Construction Observers/Resident Technicians during all facets of construction.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering with Master’s degree preferred.
• 5-10+ years of environmental engineering design experience.
• Experience in municipal wastewater treatment and drinking water treatment design and construction.
• Iowa or Nebraska P.E. license or EIT certification with ability to obtain P.E. license within 1 year preferred.
