The City of Chesapeake is seeking a detailed, organized Crew Leader for its Public Utilities division in Chesapeake, VA. You will lead a 2–6 person crew, train staff, ensure safety compliance and perform wastewater system maintenance.
This role requires a Class A CDL at hire and a tanker endorsement within 6 months. You’ll coordinate with GIS, manage logs and reports, and may work overtime during emergencies or high-demand periods.

The Maintenance and Operations Division of Chesapeake Public Utilities has an opening for Crew Leader.
The Crew Leader position is responsible for crews of 2-6 people, training, skill development and safety compliance.
The Crew Leader position’s main activity is the repair and maintenance of Chesapeake’s Wastewater collections system infrastructure and completing pipe work with other agencies as directed.

VOCATIONAL / EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT : Requires high school diploma, GED / HSE or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT : In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of one year of related, full-time equivalent experience.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES : Requires a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is in compliance with City Driving Standards . A Commercial Driver’s License ( CDL ) may be required. Special skills or equipment certification may also be required.
