Job summary

Grays Harbor County is seeking a Wastewater Collections Lead Operator to coordinate and perform maintenance of the wastewater collection system. The role may act as the responsible charge wastewater operator when the Chief Operator is absent.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, performing system checks, grinder pump maintenance, and ensuring readiness for audits and inspections. Physical duties and on-call duties are expected as part of essential personnel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must pass medical evaluation for respirator use.
• Must obtain and maintain required certifications (First Aid, CPR, Defensive Driving).

Responsibilities

• Assist Chief Operator in constructing, rebuilding, and maintaining the wastewater collection system and related equipment.
• Perform, test, and troubleshoot repairs to wastewater collection system equipment.
• Direct day-to-day maintenance to meet guidelines and regulations.
• Maintain readiness for on-site audits and inspections by regulators.
• Supervise and train staff to ensure efficient, compliant work.
• Maintain inventory and order supplies for the system.
• Respond to emergencies and on-call duties as required.
