Job summary

Veenstra & Kimm, Inc., A Kleinfelder Company, is seeking a full-time Environmental Engineer to join our team in West Des Moines, IA. The role involves working with engineers, CAD technicians, and staff across municipal, civil, and environmental projects.

The candidate will contribute to proposals, client communications, and detailed technical reports. The ideal candidate has a civil/environmental engineering background with at least five years of design experience, and is licensed or eligible

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Five years of environmental engineering design experience.
• Experience in municipal wastewater and drinking water design and construction.
• Iowa or Missouri P.E. license or EIT with ability to obtain P.E. within 1 year preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in business development, including client contacts and proposal preparation.
• Attend board or council meetings for client contact.
• Prepare detailed technical engineering reports.
• Prepare plans and specifications for projects.
• Collaborate with Construction Observers and Technicians during construction.

Job description

We are currently seeking a full-time Environmental Engineer. Our team works with communities on a wide range of civil, municipal, and environmental projects. We are looking for a Professional Engineer who would work with Engineers, CAD Technicians, Construction Observers, Land Survey Chiefs and office staff in various capacities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in Business Development, including initiation of client contacts and preparation of project proposals.
• Client contact including attendance at board or council meetings.
• Prepare detailed technical engineering reports.
• Prepare plans and specifications for specific projects.
• Work with Construction Observers/Resident Technicians during all facets of construction.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering with Master’s degree preferred.
• Five (5) years of environmental engineering design experience.
• Experience in municipal wastewater treatment and drinking water treatment design and construction.
• Iowa or Missouri P.E. license or EIT certification with ability to obtain P.E. license within 1 year preferred.
