Job summary

Mayville Engineering Company, Inc. in Thomson, GA, seeks a QA Lab Technician to perform pretreatment testing, E-coat system adjustments, and logging of QA data. This role supports manufacturing by ensuring test data integrity and system performance.

Responsibilities include sampling for outside analysis, maintaining QA documentation, and issuing work orders for maintenance. Requires standing 7+ hours, ability to climb stairs/ladder, and ability to wear a PAPR/respirator after medical clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience in wastewater and lab testing.
• Experience with chemicals in a manufacturing lab.
• Familiar with mechanical equipment and common lab tools.
• Able to bend, stoop and move materials for measurements.
• Ability to stand and walk 7+ hours per day; climb fixed ladder.
• Must be able to pass medical clearance to wear PAPR/respirator.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pretreatment testing and maintain system per supplier recommendations.
• Test E-coat system and adjust as needed; maintain logs.
• Retrieve and ship samples for outside analysis.
• Maintain QA documentation filing system.
• Provide work orders to Maintenance for repairs or inspections.
• Process non-conforming materials and document actions.
• Complete verifications or corrective actions as assigned.

Job description

• Conducts all pretreatment testing and maintain system according to Supplier’s recommendation.
• Conduct testing of E-coat system making adjustment according to Supplier’s recommendation, maintain both paper and computer logs.
• Retrieve and ship weekly and monthly samples for Outside analysis.
• Conducts titrations and testing as required to ensure system integrity.
• Maintain filing system of all QA documentation to include, but not limited to, drawings, internal and external test reports, Training document, work instructions, etc.
• Provides work orders to Maintenance Department for any required maintenance, repairs or inspection of system deemed necessary.
• Processing and documentation of all non-conforming materials in a timely manner.
• Complete verification or corrective action as assigned.

Job Skills Requirements

• Current or previous experience in wastewater, wastewater certificate preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing lab working with chemicals.
• Experience working with mechanical equipment, computers and common lab equipment.
• Able to bend, stoop and move material(s) for measurement and system adjustments.
• Ability to stand and walk 7+ hours per day (not a sit-down position)
• Ability to climb fixed 12’ ladder to check on pumps and filters above wash stations.
• Ability to pass a medical clearance test to wear a PAPR (air supplied) helmet and/or respirator
