Job summary

MEC (Mayville Engineering Company, Inc.) in Thomson, GA seeks a QA Laboratory Technician to support pretreatment testing, E-coat adjustments, and QA recordkeeping. The role includes documenting testing results, maintaining logs, and coordinating with Maintenance on system issues.

Ideal candidates have wastewater experience or related certification, experience with lab equipment, and the ability to stand and move around industrial equipment for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Current or previous experience in wastewater; wastewater certificate preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing lab with chemicals.
• Ability to operate mechanical equipment and use lab instruments.
• Must be able to stand, bend and move to access equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pretreatment testing and maintain system per vendor recommendations.
• Test E-coat system, adjust and log results on paper and computer logs.
• Retrieve and ship weekly/monthly samples for outside analysis.
• Perform titrations and testing to ensure system integrity.
• Maintain QA documentation filing system (drawings, reports, training materials).
• Issue work orders to Maintenance for necessary repairs or inspections.
• Process and document all non-conforming materials promptly.
• Complete verifications or corrective actions as assigned.

Job description

• Conduct testing of E-coat system making adjustment according to Supplier's recommendation, maintain both paper and computer logs.


• Retrieve and ship weekly and monthly samples for Outside analysis.


• Conducts titrations and testing as required to ensure system integrity.


• Maintain filing system of all QA documentation to include, but not limited to, drawings, internal and external test reports, Training document, work instructions, etc.


• Provides work orders to Maintenance Department for any required maintenance, repairs or inspection of system deemed necessary.


• Processing and documentation of all non-conforming materials in a timely manner.


• Complete verification or corrective action as assigned.

Job Skills Requirements

• Current or previous experience in wastewater, wastewater certificate preferred.


• Experience in a manufacturing lab working with chemicals.


• Experience working with mechanical equipment, computers and common lab equipment.


• Able to bend, stoop and move material(s) for measurement and system adjustments.


• Ability to stand and walk 7+ hours per day (not a sit-down position)


• Ability to climb fixed 12' ladder to check on pumps and filters above wash stations.


• Ability to pass a medical clearance test to wear a PAPR (air supplied) helmet and/or respirator
