Job summary

Miami County Recycling/Transfer Station seeks a seasoned supervisor to manage daily operations, safety compliance, and staff in a high-volume solid waste facility. Under limited direction, you will oversee equipment, budgeting, and regulatory adherence while coordinating with state and local officials.

Responsibilities include enforcing policies, guiding maintenance, and ensuring timely reporting, training, and performance reviews.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus 5+ years’ supervisory refuse operation experience or equivalent.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and valid Ohio commercial driver’s license, Class B.
• Knowledge and experience in operation/maintenance of equipment for loading, hauling, disposal of solid waste.

Responsibilities

• Develops unit work procedures, enforces policy and standards for Transfer Station operations.
• Schedules, assigns, reviews, and evaluates staff performance; assists with difficult tasks.
• Manages transfer operations, oversees hauling, coordinates projects, and ensures equipment functionality.
• Prepares and monitors the Recycling/Transfer Station budget, orders parts, coordinates maintenance.
