Job summary

Miami County is seeking a dedicated Sanitary Engineering Department team member to operate equipment and perform routine inspections and maintenance under direction. responsibilities include loading and compacting waste, processing materials for transfer or recycling, enforcing safety rules, and maintaining grounds and facilities.

Strong problem-solving, math, and team collaboration are needed. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid Ohio driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operates semi-tractor to transfer solid waste for disposal or recycling.
• Assists Transfer Station Operator 2 in loading and compacting solid waste for disposal or recycling.
• Inspects equipment for proper fluid levels and maintenance needs.
• Processes materials for transfer or recycling.
• Assists customers and enforces safety rules and regulations.
• Maintains grounds and facility duties (mowing, trimming, snow removal, trash pick-up, painting).
• Performs custodial duties as directed.
